The context in which we find ourselves

Unfortunately, in the current global and Spanish context, the excessive use of new technologies has become a growing concern for both young people and adults.

Recent media coverage has highlighted the ubiquity of digital devices and the growing reliance on online platforms, sparking debate about their impacts on mental health, interpersonal relationships, and overall well-being.

Children and young people, in particular, are immersed in a digital environment from an early age, with unprecedented access to mobile devices, social media, and video games. This has led to discussions about excessive screen time, raising concerns about cognitive development, addiction, sedentary lifestyles, and the loss of social skills in this generation.

At the same time, adults are not exempt from this reality. Teleworking, accelerated by the pandemic, has intensified the use of digital technologies to carry out work and personal activities. This increase in connectivity has sparked debates about the blurred boundaries between work and personal life, as well as the impact on workers' physical and emotional health.

This ongoing debate highlights the urgent need to find a healthy balance in the use of technology to preserve mental health, promote meaningful relationships, and foster a more balanced lifestyle.
